Welcome! My name is Brandon Burley, and my mission is to advance criminal justice, public policy and public administration through practical, pragmatic solutions based on international evidence.
As I was finishing my Masters degree (in Public Administration with a concentration in Organizational Management) I had to take my exit exams which were administered by Peregrine where I scored in the 99th percentile of students (historically) who had taken that exam.
I am a Presbyterian Christian, a husband, and a father. My wife, Heather, and I have been married since 2009, and together we are raising our family with a strong foundation in faith.
I am a United States Marine Corps combat veteran, having served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. After completing my military service, I dedicated my life to law enforcement, retiring in 2023 as a Lieutenant Detective and the Assistant Director of a violent crimes task force. My experiences in law enforcement gave me invaluable insight into the complexities of the criminal justice system and shaped the perspective I bring to my work today.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Public Administration, I have always had a passion for education. I’ve taught law enforcement professionals and currently instruct middle and high school students, helping them understand the criminal justice system and its role in society.
When I began publishing my books, there were several works that I had written over the years- but for one reason or another had not yet published. My published works include “Understanding Criminal Justice,” “A Balancing Act: An Integrated Approach to Criminal Justice,” “Reducing Recidivism: A Comprehensive Guide,” and “Securing Funds: A Comprehensive Guide to Grant Writing.” I’ve also written the Newbrook Chronicles series, a fictional work which includes “Unity’s Dawn” and “Horizons of Tomorrow.”
Whether you’re here to explore my books, learn more about criminal justice, or engage in discussions about ethics, I’m glad you’ve stopped by. My hope is to inspire thoughtful conversations and encourage a deeper understanding of the justice system. Thank you for visiting, and I hope my work helps spark meaningful reflection on the importance of justice, fairness, and civic responsibility.
